Definition on An Anglo-Indian
The first use of the term (and currently legally accepted by the government of India) was to describe all British people living in India, regardless of whether they had mixed blood or not. This usage changed to describe Anglo-Indians as people who were of mixed blood descending from the British on the male side and women from the Indian side.
