The site was originally started in the name of 'Anglo-Indian Blogs' for reading blog posts by Anglo-Indians who are descendants of British/Europeans who once lived in India. 

Literal (dictionary) meaning of the term  'Anglo-Indian:'

  • A person of English and Indian descent.
  • A person of English birth or ancestry living in India. 

According to Article 366(2) of the Indian Constitution, An 'Anglo-Indian' is:

A person whose father or any of whose other male progenitors in the male line is or was of European descent but who is domiciled within the territory of India and is or was born within such territory of parents habitually resident therein and not established there for temporary purposes only" 

More about the 'Anglo-Indian World' Website

The site has now been renamed to angloindianworld.com along with the addition of more features to be of value and interest to Anglo-Indians as well as persons who:

  • Are Indian with a combined heritage.
  • Are living in India but are not originally Indian.
  • Live(d) in India but are/were not of Indian origin.
  • Are interested in living/visiting in India.
  • Are interested in researching, adding to the knowledge of and meeting the above persons online and offline.
