Users gain points according to how much they use the site.

Point schema:

Posting a joke earns 20 points

Posting a link in the web directory earns 20 points.

Posting a blog entry earns 30 points.

Posting a forum topic earns 30 points.

A new wiki-post earns 40 points.

Setting up a member profile (by clicking edit in the my account page) earns a member 50 points. (an additional 50 points for a total of 100 points is now available for a limited time since the process is more complicated than it should be hence the double points.)

Rewards for achieving points:

Users receive titles and additional site permissions.

When a user receives 50 points the get the title 'verified member.' and can start uploading images in wiki posts, blog posts, joke posts and more.

When  a user earns 200 points, they get the title 'established contributer' and they can then start their own discussion group.

When a user earns 4000 points, they earn the title 'veteran contributer' (additional permissions to be decided.)

One shortcut to earning 5000 bonus points is posting a wiki-scrap that is selected by the documentation team to be added to the documentation project.

Titles that are special and cannot be earned by points:

In addition to receiving 5000 bonus points, contributers receive a bonus title called 'Historically significant contributer' when a wiki post they have started and added a significant amount of information to is selected for addition to the documentation project.

When there are multiple contributers to the wiki-post that is cloned into the documentation project, each contributer is eligible to receives 500 points for significant additions and may be awarded the title 'Historically signficant contributer.'

Site admins and managers do not receive points for contributions made with their official accounts as this would be unfair in the calculation of top site contributers.
